Nicknamed the Alamo City, San Antonio is
located in the south part of Texas. It is the second largest city in
the state and seventh largest city in the country. The city was
found in 1718 and was named after the Italian Saint Anthony. San
Antonio has the largest military concentration in the nation and is
famous for the Alamo and the River Walk. AT&T and Clear Channel
Communications are two companies that have their headquarters
in the city. San Antonio is home to one professional sports
franchise, the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA who play at the AT&T
Center. The team has been very successful winning three NBA
Championships.
